Studio Rooms

About five years ago we noticed a demand from tenants in Dunedin for quality furnished accommodation. About that time we saw the first studio rooms being offered.
This meant tenants could live with others without having to be jointly and severally liable for the rental and consumables of those who they shared the common areas with.
The other difference with studio rooms was that power and usually a limited supply of internet was now provided saving tenants from the necessity of setting up and dividing up their own utility accounts.

We now define a studio room as a furnished room which is leased separately to either a single person or a couple.
Furnishings are included (often with microwaves and small fridges) and this gives some independence to each tenant and saves the financial outlay of buying all of the necessary furniture and appliances.
Basically studio rooms take a lot of the hassle out of flatting and provide some degree of the independence of living alone.
